What is an Auto Responder – Content For Auto Responders

New to writing Auto Responder messages? There are several ways you can get content for your Auto responder. If you are new to Auto responders and are trying to build your list, it can sometimes seem very difficult to start writing messages that will keep your readers interested.

It seems ironic that you have gone through all the hassle of building the list in the first place, on;y to see your readers un-subscribing as fast as they join you.

Obviously, the first rule of thumb is; Keep to your subject topic. The guys and gals who signed up in the first place did so because they were interested in your subject. If you wander off course onto some unrelated tack, they will soon un-subscribe, so stay on topic.

A good way to keep your readers interest is to write a "Mini Series". A whole bunch of Auto Responder messages that follow on from one another, once you get started with this it becomes very easy to find content and stay on topic. Words will flow from you like you thought they never could.

Why... because you have a "cause", you know exactly what you are going to write about, before you start. Your topic is already decided, all you have to do is plan a series of "chapters", as you would for an e-book. Each chapter then becomes an Auto responder message. Your readers will look forward to receiving the next chapter.

Try not to go overboard with the Links in your messages. there is nothing more annoying than to keep receiving e-mails full of links, one or two in each message is more than enough, make some of them "give aways", but keep them relevant to your content.

Another source of content could be to join a few Auto responder lists that are on the same subject as you. I am not suggesting for a minute that you copy them, not at all. What I am saying is that they could point you in the right direction and give you a few ideas for your own list.

Another good source for content, join a few Forums, start posting and/or answering posts that you know a bit about. It will surprise you, you will get to know exactly what people are looking for, this will give you ideas for your list which you can then put into practice.

What is an Auto Responder – Auto Responders and How to Use Them to Maximum Effect

Auto responders are very effective for building a relationship with your list of subscribers if used correctly.

It is well known that in most cases a prospect needs to be exposed to your message at least five to seven times before they will make a purchase.

As a marketer you could be tempted to simply load up your auto responder with hard sell email messages. This can prove counter productive so you must be very careful as to how you use your auto responder to market your products.

So how do you accomplish the right approach with auto responders?

Aim to build slowly so as to build a relationship first of all.

It makes sense to start with an informative message that educates your prospect, of course on the topic of your product or service.

That said do not go so slowly that you do not even ask for the sale. Remember this is what you are in business for.

Do not forget to include your product link at the bottom of your message; at the same time do not turn it into a sales letter.

Spend some time to make your prospect aware of the problems that your product or service can solve. The possibility of your product solving their problem is one reason why they have subscribed to your list or auto responder ecourse in the first place.

You should explain how your product or service can solve their problem. Your next message can be on the benefits of your product. You can now begin to give your prospect more factual information with each following message. Your final message can be a sales pitch.

With each email you are basically building a relationship with your prospect and showing them the benefits of your product for free! This way you can get your seven exposures without them feeling pressured and opting out of your list before they even see the potential benefits of your product.

It is safe to say that using your auto responder to market in this way is really a fine art but done properly it will yield great rewards.

In case you are wondering just how to craft these email messages then it will pay you to use the examples of other marketers. I am sure you are already receiving email marketing messages from other marketers. If so why not start up a 'swipe' file and learn from these messages - don't cut and paste the exact same copy though!

Remember that there are no hard and fast rules here. Each list is different and you should test to see what works best for your list.

In fine, you want to build a relationship so there really is no point trying to sell in your first email. Keep your potential customers interest. Tell them what they stand to gain from your product and convince them over time to make the purchase.
