This morning I had a unique notification via text messaging on my motorola i 85
I’ve been working with several people and developed kindof a personal relationship regarding space happenings.
Once in a while, I have one, once in a while they have one.
Since I travel southbound on Highway 2A from Edmonton 5 days a week, from Monday to Friday, he Knows which direction I’m going to be facing. Starnut that he is, as much as I am, minus the big bucks to steer towards the right telescopes, he has the sense to inform me of a big event.
Well.. I just love that. In Fact, I sometimes am taken by surprise as to what text messaging can actually do
for the individual.
Me, I’m flying down the 2A in Alberta, from Edmonton, to Calgary, and my phone does its thing and nooooootifies me of a new message.
Low and behold, the warehouse superviser, who some times lets me sleep when I get there, who also is interested in space….. Sspaced out as he is… hhehe
fNIce guy by the way. Totally.. I hope he reads this in good humour.
Any way, he text messages me 10 minutes before the supposed event is supposed to happen.
Well.. 5:12 am mst I’m peering thru my windshield, looking aat the the haze, and some clouds, with the stars dissapearing.
I knew for a fact, and personal experience where the space station that the shuttle docked with in generall would appear.
So I kept an eye on both the western hemisphere, plus the southern hemisphere.
I was told to keep an eye on the south.. wherefore not.
Texted back, why? What Am, I looking for?
Space shuttle he says.. Since I had the previous experience with the space station docking years ago, I had a general idea…
This set me up to witness another pheno.. nice meteor drop.
Unfortunately, I’m running late, so could not set up a camera….. dang it all
